He said “the federal government is presently embarking on extensive and all-year round irrigated agriculture towards attaining governments aspiration for food security and facilitating alternative sources of wealth creation”

Adamu said the ministry’s achievements included the support towards ensuring significant reduction in total dependency on rain-fed agriculture and to improve on the national access to potable water supply.

The minister disclosed that the current administration was working hard to achieve 100% access to potable water supply by the year 2030 in the country.

While listing the successes recorded in the water sector, Adamu said: “juncture, permit me to highlight some of these achievements: Federal ministry of water resources is supporting the nation towards ensuring significant reduction in total dependency on rain-fed agriculture.

He lauded the support of the media noting that the cooperation and support rendered by the media had contributed immensely to achieving the ministry’s set target.
