The newly elected executive of the National Palm Produce Association of Nigeria (NPPAN), led by its National President, Mr. Bassey Essien has promised to strengthen the growth of palm produce in the country.
The 12-man executive body, which emerged during the 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of NPPAN, promised to serve and re-position NPPAN for the best interest, growth and development of the sector.
Essien disclosed that his administration shall be based on people-oriented policies directed at the full benefits of members, adding that far-reaching reforms shall be introduced to bring NPPAN in tune with other related sister bodies, as well as the ministry of agriculture.
He noted that the new executives were elected after the expiration of the tenure of immediate past executive led by Mr. Henry Olatujoye, after a three-year term in accordance with the NPPAN constitution. Essien said before the election, there was a stakeholders’ meeting/ministerial briefing, where it was agreed that a new executive body needs to be put in place to avoid any vacuum.
